WORLD WAR I
WW1 started in Europe in 1914 and lasted until 1918. World War 1 was known as the Great War.

WORLD WAR II
WW2 started in 1939 through 1945 and was won by an Allied front against Nazi Germany, Italy and Japan.

KOREAN WAR
On 25 June 1950, North Korea attacked the South. This war ended in a military stalemate on 27 July 1953.

VIETNAM WAR
The Vietnam war lasted almost 20 years starting in 1955 ending in 1975. War results in a Communist victory.

GULF WAR
On 2 August 1990, Iraq invaded and occupied Kuwait. The Coalition forces pushed Iraq out in 1991.

WAR IN AFGHANISTAN
Due to the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, the USA attacked the Taliban in Afghanistan.

An American Soldier from Tennessee serving in World War One. Sergeant Adkison received a Medal of Honor for his bravery.
